Jamie Abbott lead wire to wire at San Lourenzo to win by 2 shots from Tomas Melo-Gouveia, who is the younger brother of Ricardo Gouveia and making his way in his first year as a professional.

Abbott shot a 7 under par 66 to lead by 2 from Gouveia with Craig Farrelly one further shot behind.

In the afternoon it developed into a 2-horse race between Abbott and Gouveia, who traded shot for shot and drew away further away from the rest of the field as the day wore on.

Gouveia, who is in his first year as a fully fledged professional, put up a spirited fight to get his first win but in the end, even though he threw 4 birdies at Abbott from the thirteenth, a bogey on the seventeenth stopped his momentum and the experienced Abbott ran out the worthy winner.
